Lobbying for Improvements

Change laws, primarily in Illinois, with lobbyist Dan Johnson

Why lobby?

Changing laws or public budgets looks intimidating, but with the right initiative and deferential approach, elected officials who share your values and vision are delighted to help.Politicians are nice and want to help. They're busy and expect you to do the homework so it's relatively easy for them to help you. (That's a lot of the value I add).Sometimes they can help by voting against (or suggesting amendments) to a bill that would make things worse.

Who do I help?

Companies, trade associations, non-profits (especially 501(c)(3) organizations) and individual advocates can all help shape, craft and improve laws. Some of my current and former clients include publicly-traded corporations, well-funded trade associations of contractors, non-profit service providers seeking funding and embryonic campaigns of a few people with big visions.
